Todd will be presenting the talk: “How to buy Identity Preserved (IP) High Quality and Segregated Products“.

What can you tell us about your presentation at the Virtual Seminar?

The presentation will provide an overview of the U.S. Identity Preserved (IP) industry along with the process in purchasing IP products from the United States. The U.S. IP buying process if focused on enhancing profitability by delivering consistent and traceable products. Attendees will better understand how the U.S. IP industry can deliver products that benefit the unique customer manufacturing process and product needs.

There’s a lot of interest in IP products, what´s their main advantage?

IP products offer many advantages such as listed below:

  • Relationship between buyer and seller
  • Traceability
  • Consistency
  • Quality
  • Food Safety
  • Food Security
  • Increased Sales & Profits

What are the challenges the industry is and will be facing in the future?

A large percentage of the U.S. agriculture is produced in rural regions of the United States. With that said, one of the main challenges the industry is facing is logistics/transportation. IP products are shipped using 20’ or 40’ containers and often times, available equipment for loading is less available in rural parts of the United States where the products are produced. This situation can create added transit times and/or increased transportation costs.

Market access barriers is another challenge we face as an industry as we look to enter and/or expand new markets. Common barriers we face include, but not limited to are High Tariffs, Foreign Government Regulations, Foreign country inspection procedures and zero-tolerance Maximum Residue Levels (MRL’s).

Who is Specialty Soya & Grains Alliance (SSGA)?

Specialty Soya & Grains Alliance is a member-driven group of producers and companies focused on leading the development of the Identity-Preserved soya and grains value chains. We advocate for seamless IP crops trade by sharing information across government and industry, connecting value chain members, to create efficiency and reduce market access barriers.
