We are honoured to introduce Monjur Hossen, Principal Product Development Scientist at Kellogg’s to the Global Plant-Based Foods & Proteins EcoSystem Advisory Board. During his 18 years within the food industry. Monjur has gained extensive knowledge in the plant-protein space. Hence, we are very happy to have Monjur on board! What has moved Monjur to join the EcoSystem, and how has the EcoSystem helped Kellogg’s to move forward in the alternative protein arena?

Why are you part of the Advisory Board?

It is a great honor to join the Bridge2Food Advisory Board for the Global Plant-Based Food & Protein Ecosystem as we face the challenges required for a healthier planet. I strongly believe that the rising tide that Bridge2Food has been able to generate through this EcoSystem will lift the many efforts promoting plant-based living. I am privileged to join leaders and experts from global food brands, ingredient, and processing technology companies, research institutes, and universities to accelerate the transition towards a more plant-based diet, with better foods, produced sustainably for everyone.

What has the EcoSystem done for you?

Bridge2Food is a pioneer in bringing everyone together in one platform with great ideas and insights about the challenges that everyone is facing to promote our journey towards more sustainable food and packaging. It has been great to listen to others who are continually developing different and better solutions to solve the problems we face. We are also able to review research ideas and proposals at a precompetitive level so that we can all achieve our goals and objectives.

Why is your organization a partner?

In 2020, we launched our new vision and purpose. At Kellogg, we strive to make food people love and everything we do as a company springs from the foundation provided by our vision and purpose. Our vision is a good and just world where people are not just fed but fulfilled. Kellog’s purpose is to create better days and a place at the table for everyone through our trusted food brands. As part of our goal to nourish 1 billion people with our foods, we’re making plant-based foods that deliver physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, using our 100+ years of expertise. While we don’t have all the solution, we’re hard at work testing and learning, which includes researching and collaborating with partners as we pilot new approaches to keeping our foods safe and fresh while also protecting the planet.

What do you think the Global Plant-Based Foods & Proteins EcoSystem can do for others in the field?

The Global Plant-Based Foods & Proteins EcoSystem is a great enabler to tackle a variety of challenges from multiple angles. By bringing everyone together, the EcoSystem will help others to realize that we’re not just focused on making plant-based foods and proteins, but we have a real determination to make a change in ourselves and in the world for a better, healthier planet.
