EverGrain unlocking the potential of barley grains

AB InBev‘s new ingredient company, EverGrain, transforms post-mashing barley grains into nutrient-rich, great-tasting, sustainable (i.e., lower carbon footprint) proteins. The ingredients are Upcycled™ Certified and Non-GMO Project Verified.

EverGrain plant-based milk

Its first product, EverPro, is a soluble plant-protein isolate that is optimal for plant-based milks, sports and nutrition drinks because of its functional performance and ability to let the delicious flavor and smooth texture shine.

EverPro’s Barley Protein Shake is made with a barley-pea blend that provides 20g protein, boasts a PDCAAS 1.0 and is “taste approved” by plant-based milk drinkers (they say it’s better than any other!)

Most people don’t realize barley has been part of human diets for more than 10,000 years, yet its potential is just being unlocked. Science shows barley is high in fiber, including heart-healthy beta glucan, a good source of protein, and contains important vitamins and minerals (FDA, 2008.)

Furthermore, what remains after the brewery mashing process maintains much of that nutrition value, including protein, pre-biotic fiber and phytonutrients, as well as being low in carbohydrates and sugar.
